Cabrillo III,  March 5 2011

Hello Everyone,

I am sure you all know that we came in 4th in our class, not to bad all things considered.
Nick says that we are currently in fourth place overall, Cabrillo IV will be very important.

Nick, Make sure to check out this web site, Mark found my youtube page and sent this link, this picture of Airwaves is during the Hot Rum Races a few years back.  This picture is going to give you the chills it is so beautiful.  http://kaimaka.com/?attachment_id=98

Here is the picture that I downloaded.   Here is the link to download the actual file in full resolution.
Here is the link to download the actual file Alan sent.

Here is Nick's latest email:

Gentlemen, please update you Airwaves Racing Calendar:

26 March:  Cabrillo 4, we are currently in fourth place, a good race could get us into third?
                   Party afterwards at SWYC.

14 April:    Thursday, motor from San Diego up to Newport

15 April:    Start Newport to Ensenada Race

16/17         April:  Motor back to San Diego, weather permitting

The crew has voted to do Newport to Ensenada vice the Border Run.  Please let me know your intentions.  The race entry from for Newport to Ensenada is due at the end of this month.  The Cabrillo 4 is a short buoy race, would like to have 12 - 14 on board.  The Newport to Ensenada is 125 nms.  I'd like to have 10 - 12 on board.  Passports will be required.  Also, need a local San Diego rep to attend a Newport to Ensenada course brief, 7 PM, Tuesday, March 29th. Please let me know your intentions, thanks, Nick

Hello Everyone,

Here is some information I put together for the Cabrillo III Race for last years race, it should work well for us .

Please notice below that I have used the course selection that we actually sailed last year.

I am showing the courses that we used last year.
" Rosarito buoy is off Rosarito Beach, approximate location: 32 22.182N 117 06.224 W"

We have to keep our eyes open for the boats that may be ahead of us to see where they turn.

We don't want to miss the correct mark or we will be disqualified.

Please read the sailing instructions, we are in Class 3 (French Flag), warning time 10:50 AM

If you have any comments or suggestions send them to JBolling@san.rr.com
