The race is the same as last years race. Nick tells me we are tied for 4th place overall.

Cabrillo IV from the Racing Instructions

Here is some information that I have copied from the Sailing Instructions:

6 SCHEDULE OF RACES

Race is scheduled for March 26, 2011. Time of first warning will be 1055 hr.


7 CLASS PENNANTS

Numeral pennants will be used by the RC to signal the next class starting. Numeral pennants will be displayed from the yacht's backstay. Boats without a backstay shall display their pennants in a prominent manner on the stern.

8 RACING AREA

8.1 The racing area will be in the Coronado Roads.

8.2 The Starting area will be approximately 076 magnetic at 1000 yards from Zuniga Jetty "Z".


9 THE COURSE

START

Leave CHANNEL BUOY SD to port

Leave NAVY MOORING BUOY to port

Leave CHANNEL BUOY 6 to port

Leave CHANNEL BUOY SD to port

Leave NAVY MOORING BUOY to port

FINISH at CHANNEL BUOY 6

The course distance is approximately 17.3 nautical miles. The bearing to the first mark is approximately 197M.


10 MARKS

There are three marks:

Channel Buoy SD (also known as San Diego Buoy One)

Navy Mooring buoy in Coronado Roads (TG-1 on chart) approximately located at:

32 38.95 N, 11710.78 W

Channel Buoy 6

 


11 STARTS

The race will be started in accordance with RRS 26, in the order:

PHRF 1

PHRF 2

PHRF 3

PHRF 4

PHRF 5

11.1 The warning signal for each class will be 5 minutes prior to its start.

11.2 The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the RC Signal Boat at the


12 RECALLS

Individual Recalls shall be signaled in accordance with racing Rule 29.1. The Race Committee shall not hail premature starters. It is the responsibility of yachts to start properly.


14 FINISH

The finish line shall be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the RC Signal Boat at the starboard end and the course side of the yellow tetrahedron mark at the port end. A proper finish will leave the RC boat to starboard
